No technology can stop the counterfeiters from trying. However,
SLS provides an effective tool to deter / inhibit mass counterfeiting
and efficiently identifies and traces the counterfeited product.
Coupled with appropriate investigative and legal actions, counterfeiting
will be under control. |

As counterfeited labels are inhibited, genuine SLS labels,
with the wealth of data easily accessible, will readily identify
license violations. With appropriate actions, license violations
will not be feasible and ultimately cease. |

The SLS code algorism and the database architecture are configured
to cater for mass quantities. Minimal processing power and data
transfer rate will be required for verification thus ensuring
the system's stability. An efficient back up database system
can be employed if the main system is under maintenance or upgrading. |

The main database will be hosted in a secured center with
highest security precautions. All points of connection will
be guarded by software and tried and tested hardware firewalls.
Dedicated System Network Connection using Internet Private Leased
Circuit (IPLC) should be used. Local system operators will be
screened, access guarded and surveillance during system operation
to protect the data from being exposed. |

Notebook (handheld) computer with internet access is recommended.
Furthermore, local SMS messaging servers or wireless connections
can be setup to verify the codes by mobile phone or handheld
computer/PDA. |
